Harry Jewett was born and raised in Houston. He graduated from Bellaire High School and Texas A & M University (Civil Engineering & Architectural Construction). While at Texas A & M, he was on the staff of the Architectural Research Division of the School of Architecture. Upon leaving Texas A & M, he joined the firm of Bernard Johnson Engineers in Houston. Mr. Jewett relocated to San Antonio in 1970 to be a project planner for the San Antonio HUD Model Cities project.
Harry Jewett Associates (HJA) started business operation in 1971. The firm has been involved with municipal infrastructure projects, land development projects, cellular telephone tower locations and master planning in San Antonio, Laredo, Houston, Galveston and other locations in Central and South Texas.
HX Development, LLC. is a construction and development firm operated by Mr. Jewett. This entity constructs facilities such as small office buildings and commercial facilities, cellular telephone antenna locations and subdivision recreational amenities.
Harry Jewett and his wife, Patti, have been married since 1964. Patti is an architectural designer and interior decorator and has been an active member of ASID and NKBA. They have two children. Shelly Jewett is an attorney and is the managing partner of Uhl, Fitzsimons, Jewett & Burton, PLLC, a real estate and oil & gas firm in San Antonio. David Jewett is a former TV news anchor who is now a trial attorney with the San Antonio office of Allstate Insurance.
Harry Jewett has obtained Work Precertification status from TxDOT for; Land Planning/Engineering; Route Studies & Schematic Design - Minor Roadways; Route Studies & Schematic Design - Major Roadways and Minor Roadway Design. Additionally, he has a Department of Defense, Fallout Shelter Analysis certification, No. 5tt--534-66.
Harry Jewett is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Texas.
